Delaware Trust Counsel

At Morris Nichols, the skill and commitment of our attorneys is matched by the depth of their knowledge in each of their practice areas.

Delaware is widely regarded as one of the most advantageous jurisdictions in the world in which to create a trust.  For over 50 years, the Morris Nichols Trusts, Estates & Tax Group has acted as Delaware trust counsel to settlors, beneficiaries, attorneys, banks and trust companies.  Our attorneys regularly advise clients on issues pertaining to Delaware trust law and trust administration, moving existing trusts to Delaware, modifying trusts, drafting and reviewing trust agreements, legal opinions and tax and asset protection planning.  We also routinely petition the Delaware Court of Chancery in trust matters.  Our attorneys have unique knowledge and experience that comes from decades of working on complex matters involving large trusts on behalf of trustees, beneficiaries, advisors and wealthy families.  Our practice emphasizes providing quality work and thoughtful solutions to help our clients implement their goals.

Members of Morris Nichols Trusts, Estates & Tax Group have always had deep roots within the Delaware bar and actively participate in the development of Delaware’s trust laws.  Tom Pulsifer and Todd Flubacher have previously served as Chair of the Estates & Trusts Section of the Delaware Bar Association, and both have presented trust legislation before the legislature in Dover.  Tom serves on the legislative drafting committee that drafts annual updates to Delaware’s trust laws.
