Morris Nichols Business Reorganization & Restructuring Group Wins The M&A Advisor U.S. Middle-Market Financing Award

Wilmington, DE (September 24, 2009) – The M&A Advisor has named Morris Nichols’ Business Reorganization and Restructuring Group the winner of its U.S. Middle-Market Financing Award in the Retail Manufacturing/Distribution & Good/Services sector deal category for its representation of Hancock Fabrics, Inc., in its successful Chapter 11 reorganization.

There were a total of 51 finalists for this year’s awards.  To be eligible, transactions had to close between April 1, 2008 and March 31, 2009 and have a transaction value of between $10 million and $1 billion.  Award winners were selected by a jury of experienced industry professionals, including financial professionals, academics, consultants and service providers.

The engagement team for Morris Nichols included Robert J. Dehney, Eric D. Schwartz and Gregory T. Donilon.  Practice group leader Robert Dehney said of the achievement: “We are proud and honored to receive this award.  The combination of the difficult economic environment and recent amendments to the Bankruptcy Code has made reorganizing retail businesses especially challenging.  We are gratified that industry professionals have recognized the extraordinary result that was achieved here through the talents and good efforts of our firm’s lawyers, the other professionals involved and, of course, our client.”
