Morris Nichols Business Reorganization & Restructuring Group a Finalist for Four Turnaround Atlas Awards
Wilmington, DE (June 19, 2009) – Morris Nichols’ Business Reorganization and Restructuring group was named a finalist in four categories for the Turnaround Atlas Awards 2009.
The Business Reorganization and Restructuring group, considered among the most prolific restructuring practices in the country, is a finalist in the Chapter 11 Reorganization of the Year, Turnaround Atlas Award of the Year (above $100 million) and Retail, Products & Services categories for its representation of Hancock Fabrics, Inc., one of the only national retailers to emerge successfully from bankruptcy as a reorganized entity since enactment of the new bankruptcy amendments in 2005. The group is also a finalist in the Real Estate, Lodging and Services category for its representation in the restructuring of Oakwood Homes Corporation.
The Turnaround Atlas Awards are presented annually by Global M&A Network. The awards honor leaders, professionals, top deals and firms from the distressed, special situations M&A, and the turnaround communities for significant deals and assignments completed in 2008. Winners will be announced during the awards gala gathering on June 22, 2009 at the Hotel Allegro in Chicago.
