District of Delaware Welcomes Judges Connolly and Noreika, Eliminates Vacant Judgeship Docket

On August 10, 2018, the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware officially welcomed the Honorable Colm F. Connolly and the Honorable Maryellen Noreika as United States District Court Judges. Both were sworn in to office this week.

On August 15, the Court will begin to assign cases to the new judges.

The Court will also be eliminating the Vacant Judgeship (“VAC”) docket and it is expected that all of Judge Sleet’s cases will be reassigned before his retirement in late September. Overall, case reassignment plans are likely to take many weeks to complete.
