Walt is of counsel in the Commercial Law Counseling Group. His practice focuses on partnership, limited liability company and statutory trust law. Walt is also significantly involved in unclaimed property holder representations, bank and insurance regulatory matters, consumer banking law, and general merger and acquisition and contract law matters.
Walt helps clients resolve issues and accomplish transactions in a wide range of commercial settings, such as forming multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical joint ventures; formation, acquisition and disposition of banks, trust companies and insurance companies; guiding financial institutions through regulatory approvals; assisting in the formation, regulation or liquidation of publicly traded and other large scale limited liability companies, limited partnerships and statutory trusts.
He has advised Fortune 500 companies in connection with multi-state unclaimed property audits or voluntary disclosure agreements and provided opinions related to Delaware law. Walt has also drafted documentation for the purchase, sale or servicing of portfolios of credit card receivables.
In his experience with alternative entities, Walt has served as Delaware counsel to special committees and appeared as an expert witness.
Walt is also active in his community. For more than 15 years, he has served as team captain of the annual bike ride fundraiser of the Delaware Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
