Rick Alexander Elected Chair of Morris Nichols Executive Committee

Wilmington, DE (January 5, 2011) – Morris, Nichols, Arsht & Tunnell LLP is pleased to announce that Rick Alexander has been elected Chair of the firm’s Executive Committee.  Alexander is a partner in the firm’s Delaware Corporate Law Counseling Group.  He was recently named Best Lawyers’ 2011 Delaware M&A Lawyer of the Year.

Rick succeeds Jack B. Blumenfeld, who is a partner in the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group and had served as Chair of the Executive Committee since 2007.  “Jack’s visionary leadership has allowed the firm to thrive in the challenging circumstances of the last few years,” said Alexander.  “He has overseen growth in all of our practice areas, including the intellectual property practice, which he will continue to lead.”

Rick specializes in providing advice on corporate governance and transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, capital raising and corporate control contests.  He currently serves as the Chairman of the Council of the Corporation Law Section of the Delaware State Bar Association and Co-Chair of the General Review Task Force of the ABA Committee on Corporate Laws.  He also serves on the Editorial Board of the ABA Task Force on Public Company Acquisitions, and the ABA Task Force on Shareholder Proposals.  He is the Co-President of the Albert Einstein Academy, an independent Jewish Day School in Wilmington.
