On Thursday, February 9, Justice Randy J. Holland announced his retirement, ending a 30-year tenure of service on the closely-watched Delaware Supreme Court bench.

A Law360 tribute article noted Justice Holland’s tremendous contributions to the First State’s high court, authoring more than 700 opinions, including many that have shaped Delaware jurisprudence on significant business law issues.

Morris Nichols partner John DiTomo spoke with Law360 about Justice Holland’s diplomacy efforts abroad, particularly his work with the Taiwanese judiciary. “He’s been traveling back and forth to Taiwan for the better part of decade, explaining Delaware law to high-level players there,” he said.  Taiwanese officials are interested in modeling the Delaware Chancery Court and Justice Holland and Morris Nichols have been involved in assembling a database of key Delaware opinions to be used as an educational tool.
