A. Gilchrist Sparks III Speaks at 36th Annual Securities Regulation Institute

Wilmington, DE – Tuesday February 3, 2009 – Morris Nichols partner A. Gilchrist Sparks III presented at the 36th Annual Securities Regulation Institute in Coronado, California held on January 28 – 30. Sparks was joined by D. Cameron Findlay, Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Aon Corporation, and Thomas A. Cole of Sidley Austin LLP on the panel titled Changes in Corporate Governance and Board Concerns and offered his insight on current corporate governance concerns, including hedge fund/institutional shareholder activism, risk management, shareholder proposals and proxy access.
Approximately 400 attorneys and regulators attended this year’s Institute, viewed as one of the top securities conferences in the country that provides corporate lawyers and corporate counsel with a timely look at developments in securities law, presented in part by respected members of the securities bar as well as by senior SEC officials, allowing attorneys to hear from many of the regulators who are creating rules that govern their practice.
Gil Sparks has been described as the "dean of the [Chancery] bar" by Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business. His practice concentrates on litigation and counseling arising from mergers and acquisitions and disputes relating to the governance of Delaware corporations.
