New York Times Article Notes Michael Houghton's Lobbying Effort

Wilmington, DE – September 16, 2008 – In an article, “Wind-Power Politics,” the New York Times praised the lobbying efforts of Morris Nichols partner Michael Houghton who the article noted "well represented" the interest of NRG in connection with NRG’s proposal to build a clean coal power plant in Delaware.  NRG’s proposal was submitted in response to the Delaware Public Service Commission’s 2006 solicitation for bids for the construction of new power generation in Delaware.  Although in competition with other companies promoting wind turbines and natural-gas technologies, the Times article noted that six months before bids for the project were officially due, Governor Ruth Ann Minner publicly endorsed NRG’s clean-coal proposal.
