Derek Abbott Presents at 4th Annual Distressed Investing Conference and Turnaround Awards Gala – Case Study: Ritz Camera

Wilmington, DE – April 5, 2010 – Morris Nichols Business Reorganization and Restructuring partner Derek Abbott served as a featured speaker on the panel “Turnaround Case Study:  Ritz Camera” at The M&A Advisor’s 4th Annual Distressed Investing Conference and Turnaround Awards Gala in Palm Beach, Florida, March 21-22. 

The panel discussed the successful sale of Ritz Camera Centers, Inc., America’s largest specialty camera store chain, and its acquisition by RCI Acquisition LLC.  Derek was joined by fellow deal team participants representing various parties Michael S. Goodman, Managing Director, SSG Capital Advisors, Marc Weinsweig, Senior Managing Director, FTI Consulting Inc. and Cathy Hershcopf, Partner, Cooley Godward Kronish LLP.

The Morris Nichols Business Reorganization and Restructuring Group was a finalist for The M&A Advisor Turnaround Awards in the major category Distressed M&A Deal of the Year ($100M+) and a finalist in the Retail Product sector deal category as part of the deal team involved in the Ritz Camera Centers sale and acquisition.
