Karen Jacobs Louden Receives Delaware State Bar Association’s 2009 Women’s Leadership Award

Wilmington, DE (December 30, 2009) – Morris Nichols partner Karen Jacobs Louden is the recipient of the Delaware State Bar Association’s (DSBA) 2009 Women’s Leadership Award. The award is presented to a member of the Delaware Bar whose character, strength, personality, achievement and activities in matters affecting women lawyers have served as an inspiration to and a model for women lawyers.
Throughout her 19-year tenure at Morris Nichols, Karen has been an avid advocate of legal representation for the poor. She is a Board Member and past President of Delaware Volunteer Legal Services and she served eight years as a member of the DSBA's Committee for the Provision of Legal Services to Low Income People. Karen is also chair of Morris Nichols’ Diversity Committee
In addition, Karen currently serves as Co-chair of the DSBA Professional Guidance Committee. Karen has also served as a former Legislative Chairperson and Board member of the American Civil Liberties Union of Delaware, and has chaired the Women and Law Section of the DSBA. From 2001 to 2003, she served on the State of Delaware Council on Early Care and Education, appointed by Governor Ruth Ann Minner.
