PLI’s In Brief Features Article by A. Gilchrist Sparks III, Christine Dupriest – Pleading Director Knowledge
October 2009
Wilmington, DE – October 28, 2009 – The article Pleading Director Knowledge authored by Morris Nichols' Corporate Litigation and Corporate Law Counseling Group partner and Best Lawyers 2009 Delaware Corporate Lawyer of the Year A. Gilchrist Sparks III and Associate Christine H. Dupriest was featured in In Brief, the Practicing Law Institute’s (PLI) on-line weekly eNewsletter series.
Pleading Director Knowledge was excerpted from PLI’s Course Handbook What All Business Lawyers Must Know About Delaware Law Developments 2009 and is an analysis of the Delaware Supreme Court's decision in Pfeffer v. Redstone, 965 A.2d 676 (Del. 2009), a case stemming from Viacom's spinoff of its interest in Blockbuster, holding that the pleading of knowledge in certain cases must be more specific than had been generally presumed.
