IT Desktop Applications & System Administrator

The IT Desktop Applications & System Administrator, under the supervision of the IT Manager, is responsible for the stability, integrity and efficient operations of the information technology network, desktop and systems that support core organizational functions, actively monitoring, maintaining, supporting and optimizing all technologies, and being a key technical resource for other IT staff. The candidate will be responsible for the operations, maintenance, troubleshooting and upgrading of existing VMware VDI environment; working tickets escalated from the Service Desk; submitting infrastructure and/or application change requests to the IT Manager for review and approval; performing on-call and afterhours implementation support, and assisting other members of the IT Department with the resolution of technical issues.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Responsible for system installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and management of various Windows 10 images and/or Apple applications and systems. Resolves routine desktop Employee incident tickets and is responsible for imaging, deploying, and maintaining respective desktop environments. 
  • Create documentation on software packaging configuration requirements, implementation, and other related package specifics working with IT staff to fulfil requirements 
  • Provide enterprise level and end user support and troubleshooting for VMware/Citrix/server applications 
  • Troubleshooting and providing resolutions to disruptions on the Citrix infrastructure and able to analyze and suggest/provide improvements. 
  • Provide preventative maintenance in all information systems core equipment and supporting technologies including but not limited to installing security related patches, certificates and application upgrades 
  • Provide support for system solutions related to Microsoft, Citrix, VMware and backup/storage technologies 
  • Building of new servers for but not limited to Citrix, VMware, Microsoft and Web applications environments 
  • Maintain a secure and safe environment by ensuring all security patches and new anti-virus definition files are deployed to all workstations Do necessary remediation as necessary. 
  • Create and maintain documentation for current system maintenance and new implementations 
  • Be able to perform support functions within AD, Exchange, O365 tools, Imaging, etc. 
  • Support other corporate desktop applications such as VPN, Multi-Factor Authentication, SSO, etc. 
  • Core Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 p.m. Must be flexible to work additional hours.
