Todd Flubacher Unplugged

Todd Flubacher is typical of the younger generation at Morris Nichols.  He appreciates the sophisticated level of work that Morris Nichols attorneys perform for marquee clients, and values the opportunity to learn from his colleagues, many of whom are nationally-recognized lawyers.  Almost from day one at Morris Nichols, “I felt engaged in the business of the firm because, immediately, I was working directly with partners on matters that are every bit as challenging and important as those usually reserved for only more senior associates at other firms,” he says.

“At Morris Nichols, we do whatever it takes to service the client.  It is one of the first lessons I learned at the firm, and I think it is one of the reasons we attract the level of work that we do for our clients.  When my law school professors heard about my offer here, they told me that Morris Nichols is the gold standard in Delaware.  As far as I am concerned, Morris Nichols is definitely the gold standard.”

Todd feels that one of the greatest rewards of his career at Morris Nichols is the chance to make an imprint on the Delaware legal community and on the law itself.  “As a second-year associate, I worked on a federal tax law problem and the solution that I identified involved the creation of a new Delaware statute.   I was able to shepherd the new statute from the origination of the concept, to presenting the solution to the client, to drafting the statute, all the way through to its enactment,” he says.  Todd also thinks that practicing law at a top firm like Morris Nichols in Delaware has enabled him to have significant participation in the Delaware legal community.  "For example, when Todd was an associate at the firm, he served as the Chair of both the Estates and Trusts Section and the Tax Section of the Delaware State Bar Association and he currently serves on the Board of The Estate Planning Council of Delaware, Inc. and the Professional Advisory Committee of the Delaware Community Foundation.  He has had the opportunity to present several CLE classes, he gives public speaking engagements and has written several articles.

Todd and his wife have a young son and Todd appreciates the benefits of family-friendly Delaware and the amenities the region offers. He feels that the firm gives young attorneys a lot of latitude to manage their personal and professional demands. “The firm trusts us as professionals to meet our clients’ needs and to use our own judgment to find the flexibility in our schedules to balance our personal and professional lives.”
