Karen is a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation Group. Her practice focuses primarily on patent litigation. She also has been involved in a wide variety of other intellectual property and commercial litigation, including copyright, trademark, trade secret and unfair competition litigation, and contract and licensing disputes. Karen also advises clients on a variety of copyright and trademark matters.
Karen is an avid advocate of legal representation for the poor. She serves as President and Board Member of the Delaware Volunteer Legal Services. She also served for eight years as a member of the Delaware State Bar Association's Committee for the Provision of Legal Services to Low Income People.
Karen serves as Co-chair of the Professional Guidance Committee and serves on the National Women's Law Center Leadership 35 Committee. In the past, she has served as Legislative Chairperson and Board member of the American Civil Liberties Union of Delaware, chair of the Women and Law section of the Delaware State Bar Association and as an associate member of the Board of Bar Examiners. She also was appointed by Governor Minner to serve on the State of Delaware Council on Early Care and Education from 2001-2003.
